Lake Solitude (2.2 miles)

Location: Big Cottonwood Canyon
This is the other trail that begins at Silver Lake. Previously we took the twin lakes trail from Silver Lake. This is an easier hike, suitable for all ages, but also lacks the scenic views of the Twin Lakes Trail. It is mostly a woody trail, the trees obscuring the mountains most of the time.

Silver Lake drying up and the boardwalk that leads to the Twin Lakes and Lake Solitude trailhead. The dried grass used to all be a large lake.

The tall Aspens that line the path

If u look carefully there is some snow on the trail. The snowfall begins early at the higher altitudes.

All-in-all it was an easy hike and the views from Silver Lake made it worth it.
